MIFOTRA receives a Delegation from Ghana in a benchmarking visit

On 09th July, 2018, the Ministry of Public Service and Labour  (MIFOTRA) received a Delegation from Ghana on a 4 day study visit in Rwanda aimed at sharing experience in the field of public sector reforms. The delegation was composed of five Government Officials and Representatives of the Private Sector and Academia namely Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo; the CEO of Public Sector Reforms in the office of the Senior Minister (Head of Delegation), Mr. Godwin Brocke; Chief Director in the Office of Civil Service, Professor Justice Bawole, Head of Department of Public Administration and Health Services Management in University of Ghana, Mr. seth Twum Akwaboah, CEO of Association of Ghana Industries and Seth Kentia, Senior Financial Analyst in the Office of Senior Minister. 
The delegation was welcomed by the Management Team of the Ministry of Public Service and Labour led by the Permanent Secretary Mr.  Gaspard Musonera. A presentation on public sector reforms in Rwanda was delivered and the visiting delegation had ample time to discuss various issues of their interest with the Ministry  Officials.   Adddressing the delegation, the Permanent Secretary expounded on various achievements recorded in Rwanda.  
 “Our reconstruction process after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi was premised on home-grown solutions such as Gacaca Courts established to try Genocide Suspects, the IMIHIGO Concept that informs the Rwanda Performance Management Framework among others.  .” said Mr Gaspard. He thanked the delegation for choosing Rwanda and the opportunity to share experience and knowledge between the 2 countries. 
The Ghanaian Delegation was satisfied by the information provided and thanked the Country’s Leadership for making the visit happen. They called for a continued partnership and collaboration between the 2 Countries through various available channels. 
The delegation visited other institutions including RGB, MINALOC, RDB, City of Kigali and Shyira Hospital, in Nyabihu District. 
After the meeting with MIFOTRA,  the delegation visited Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre.
