NESS Steering Committee Reviews Progress Towards 1.25 Million Jobs by 2029

The Ministry of Public Service and Labour (MIFOTRA) convened a National Employment and Skills Strategy (NESS) Steering Committee meeting chaired by the Minister of Public Service and Labour, Hon. Judith Uwizeye, to review progress on ongoing job creation interventions.

The meeting brought together key stakeholder institutions to assess progress, with discussions focusing on skills development and job matching as key drivers of employment creation. These efforts contribute to Rwanda’s target of creating 1.25 million productive and decent jobs by 2029.

Members also emphasised the need to strengthen initiatives that promote sustainable and productive employment, while reinforcing collaboration through the Job Creation Joint Imihigo. The meeting reaffirmed the importance of coordinated action among stakeholders in accelerating employment opportunities and strengthening Rwanda’s labour market.
