Minister Nkulikiyinka emphasizes role of trade unions in advancing decent work
Hon. Minister Amb. Christine Nkulikiyinka addressed members of trade unions under CESTRAR urging them to continue their crucial role in promoting and advancing decent work for their members. She stressed the unions' significance in achieving the target NTS2, particularly in creating 1,250,000 new and decent jobs.
These remarks were made on Friday 4th October 2024, during the official launch of the 10th CESTRAR Congress, which was attended by representatives from 17 affiliated trade unions. Leaders of employees and employer organizations in Rwanda, who were present at the congress, assured the Minister their continued support to implement government strategies aimed at creating decent jobs and upholding labour laws.
Mr. BIRABONEYE Africain, the Secretary General of CESTRAR, along with his colleagues, emphasized the importance of promoting social dialogue between employees and employers. They identified this as one of the most effective methods to increase organizational productivity, prevent labour-related conflicts and avoid court litigations.
