Rwanda Hosts Africa HR Summit as Hon. Christine Nkulikiyinka advocates collaborative HR strategies

The Africa Human Resource Management Summit, a gathering of over 700 delegates from across the continent, is currently underway in Kigali. The three-day event, which began on 20 November 2024, serves as a crucial platform for reshaping Africa’s approach to workforce development.

In her opening remarks on Thursday, 21 November 2024, Hon. Minister Amb. Christine Nkulikiyinka highlighted Rwanda's commitment to transformative workforce development, and emphasized that Rwanda’s investments in skills development, digital transformation, and gender equality align with Africa's Agenda 2063.

The Minister highlighted the role of private-sector-led Skills bodies (Sector Skills Councils) in aligning labor supply with demand through collaboration among government, academia, and industry.

Hon. Nkulikiyinka called on participants to align HR strategies with Agenda 2063, invest in Africa’s next generation of leaders, and foster cross-sector collaboration for shared prosperity. Together, she said, Africa can unlock its workforce potential.
