Minister Nkulikiyinka Highlights Rwanda’s Achievements at 20th ILO Regional Conference in Addis Ababa
On Monday 19 May 2025, Hon. Minister Christine Nkulikiyinka participated in the 20th International Labour Organization Regional Conference, currently taking place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. At the beginning of the conference, Hon. Minister Nkulikiyinka passed the torch for the coming two years to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, with pride and deep confidence in the regional solidarity.
She presented Rwanda’s progress in advancing skills development and promoting productive, decent jobs aligned with the theme of the 19th ILO Regional Conference held in Kigali in 2023: “Promoting Skills and Productive Decent Jobs for Our Common Better Future.”
Hon. Minister Christine Nkulikiyinka reiterated Rwanda’s experience marked with achievement including labour-based investment in environmental protection, soil erosion control, afforestation, and rural infrastructure that have helped build more self-reliant communities while preserving our natural resources. These programmes do more than creating jobs, they restore dignity, foster social stability, and generate long-term value. This year’s conference, taking place from 19th to 23rd May 2025, is focused on the theme: Resilient Communities and a Healthy Environment: The Employment-Intensive Investment Programme (EIIP) Approach.
