GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR THE INAUGURAL PUBLIC SERVICE INDUCTION PROGRAMME

The Government of Rwanda recognises that a cohesive, well-trained and ethical workforce is pivotal to driving the country’s development vision. To this end, a National Induction Programme (NIP) for the public service has been developed and aims at inducting and training public servants on their roles and responsibilities. It will also enable them better understand the core values, ethics and strategic objectives of the public service. The induction programme focuses mainly on fostering teamwork, professionalism, self management, ethical behaviour, accountability and collective commitment to service, while equipping public servants with the basic principles of efficiency and effectiveness.

Spanning five cohorts between 28 October to 7 December 2024, this inaugural phase of the programme has inducted 957 participants across ministries and affiliated government institutions. The programme has been instrumental in empowering public servants with the knowledge and skills to deliver, as “Team Rwanda” on the priorities set out in the National Strategy for Transformation (NST-2) and Vision 2050.

"You are not just participants; you are ambassadors of this initiative, entrusted with the responsibility to inspire your peers back in your workplaces" Amb. Christine Nkulikiyinka, Minister of Public Service and Labour.

This induction programme will continue for all public servants and future Rwandan workforce, which will include refreshers and relevant training.

The graduation ceremony took place on Sunday, 15 December 2024 at Rwanda Military Academy, Gako.
